WORMS: no longer our friends....

To this day, on a pretty day, you can find my mom out in the yard digging something up, planting something, replanting something, mowing something...you name it! 

I call her Mrs. Greenjeans, although she wears overalls..:)

Growing up of course she usually had us out there with her and I will never forget our lessons in Worms!  "Worms are our friends!" she would say and she would go on to explain why they are good and how they help us.  There was always a hands on lesson, which actually helped me retain that knowledge...and YES Mom, I remember why worms are our friends..:)

Anyway...I am trying this same approch with my children and I try to make all of our lessons hands on.  This past spring Tristan helped me plant some flowers and I too passed on the "Worms are our friends!" message that I had heard so many years ago. 

It has been raining for a few days now and so the worms are out!  It seems though that my little guy might need a refresher on the whole worm thing...check it out!
