WOW that was fast! My Parent contact from the guild called me today. Her name is Angela and she and her husband have 2 children, Danny 9yrs old (Typical) and Casey Jane 7 years old (Downs). Her children are the same age difference as Tristan and Trinity.
The minute I heard her voice I could tell that she was going to be a very warm person and someone I could talk too. I tend to be a reserved person, but it did not take me long to feel I could talk to her and ask her questions. I did end up crying on the phone but she handled it amazingly! We talked for over and hour and she had so much useful information and encouraging words it was amazing. The MOST amazing part is that she really listened to me. I even told her some of the weirder things I have been thinking and she assured me that it was not "weird and she had some of those same thoughts. She says that in a few years I will look back on this time and be amazed at where Trinity is. I can imagine this is so, but it is very hard to picture. As far as information she recommended a pediatrician that she has been going to for her children, a school, a day care, etc. so much information that she advised that I just listen and she would send me the links for everything. It was so nice to have someone to talk to and another weight was lifted.
Funny how it feels like weights are being lifted because I didn't realize i was carrying them until one gets taken away.
Today is a lighter kind of day...
