New Friends....

Today I switched out with Washington so that I could have some time with Tristan and just see the light of day!  I decided that a day at the park, outside in the nice fresh air, would be just the thing for us.

So I loaded Tristan and Grandma in the car and off we went.  We have several parks in our area, but I decided a NEW park would be just the thing...WHY?  Who knows, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.  We all piled out of the car and headed to the swings. slides and world of climbs.

We were there a good 15 minutes or so when....

"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine."  Well I say gin joints, but really it was the park...and she, well SHE was a lady with 2 boys and a boyfriend in tow..:)

I am not sure how it began, but I do know that Tristan loves to talk to other kids and play with them, so I am sure he latched on.  I noticed that during my break of playing and Grandma taking over, that Tristan followed a little boy over to the swings and he and grandma were talking away with the new lady and one of the boys.  After a bit we tag teamed out so Grandma could break and I took over.  Tristan seemed to really take to the new lady and her younger boy and I was not surprised as he is a little put with me these days.  He is really taking this hospital stay hard and I don't blame him.  His routine, while we are trying to keep it as normal as possible, it not so normal and he is letting ME know it.  Anyway, he and the little boy, who turns out to be Brady, end up playing together when Brady comes up with the FUN idea to get his mommy to "scare" him when he is sliding down the slide.  Tristan eats this up and soon he is requesting to be "scared" and is helping "scare" whom ever is sliding down!!  He had a great time...:)  I got to talk to the mom a bit and she (Erica) seems really nice.  Too many times you go to the park and the kids hit it off, but the other parent is too quiet or too into themselves/their electronic devices to really pay attention to their kid let alone carry on a conversation with you.  It was refreshing!  Erica made mention that they were going to the lake the next day and would we like to come, unfortunately I had to decline and explained about Trinity.  It was very nice of her to offer and so I gave her my Mommy card (thanks Sarah for the idea!) and hopefully we will hear from them again.  Right now I am not really in a position to make new friends and nurture a relationship, but it would be nice to make new playmate friends for Tristan.

Today was a NEW kind of day...
