Dr Mendeloff came by and let us know that Open Heart Surgery (OHS) is going to take place on Monday morning.
I was able to do some research (after the surgery) on Dr Mendeloff and found out he is kinda a BIG DEAL!!! We are lucky we are in the right place at the right time. Some REALLY nice things about him - when we met him he was very friendly, open to questions, took time to personally visit with us and not just swing in. He made sure we understood EXACTLY what he was going to do, what he expected and what we should expect. He handled the paperwork himself which surprised me, I would have thought that task would have been given to a clerk or a nurse. We were given a thorough description and a MAJOR heart lesson, but in a good way
He was voted Best Pediatricians in Dallas 2010 by D Magazine....

The Mommy
NOTE - After all of this was said and done about 2 weeks later we followed up with our normal pediatrician and he had glowing reviews on Dr Mendelhoff. He even said that he has never had a surgeon follow up with him personally, they usually have someone else handle if they bother at all.
