The day I almost died...aka the DMV!
UGH I somehow managed to lose my drivers license? I have a feeling that it is in the exact same spot as the remote to our TV and my $300 digital camera....if only I knew where that was!
So today I truck it down to the DMV because, as it turns out, if you LOSE your liscense there is no way to renew it online you have to be there in person. I think to myself that by getting there semi early that I should stand a chance of getting out in a decent amount of time...
See I arrived at 10:52am, well in reality I arrived at 10:30am, but the line just to check in was so long that it took me some time just to tell them why I was there.
Notice my little 229 number....well I got super excited when I saw on the screen that #204 was next, but here is the THING! as it turns out they have a numbering system that goes from 1 to 1000 and each block of 100 means something ie 1-100 means you need a new one, 100-blah blah means you lost yours etc etc. They did not call the 200 group consistently so as you can imagine...I was there a while!
In my wait time I made friends with this cricket. Can't see him? Well he is that dark spot next to all those other gross dirty spots...kinda in the middle. We got really close because there was not enough seating for everyone and I had to sit on the floor...:)
Anyway, 2 hours later I made it out of the DMV with a new Lic. My real reason for posting though, besides all the info above was to discuss this lady. My shot was a bit fuzzy, but that was to protect identities and honestly myself! See the lady bent over in her backpack with the little girl in a neon green shirt.....
I needed to use the restroom in my 2 hour wait, go figure, and so I headed over. The Women's restroom was closed so we all had to use the Men's..ewww but when you have to go you just do! So I am standing there waiting my turn and this lady and her daughter come out. She opened the bathroom door with a paper towel and comes out saying.."UGH, those are the nastiest bathrooms I have ever seen." I have to admit upon stepping in they were not the best, but it was useable. Here is the KICKER.....So she walks out of the bathroom and then THROWS HER PAPER TOWEL ON THE FLOOR!!! Yes on the floor, not in the trash can, not in her purse or pocket, but on the FLOOR!
Anyway...there is no accounting for people's home training!
Today was a DMV kinda day...
