Fact about Down syndrome...

Down syndrome awareness: Please don't call our children names like Downsy, Downs, or say they are Down syndrome, etc. They are children FIRST, who just happen to have Down syndrome!! You would not want to be called the fat lady or the syphilis man. They deserve, like anyone else, not to be labeled. If you don't know the facts please ask, we won't be offended...but using incorrect, ignorant language will offend us!! I am doing this to educate. I understand a lot of people just don't know what to say & are not hurtful on purpose. Happy Down syndrome awareness month! ♥
